What is LED therapy?
As a passionate proponent of advancing our understanding of healthcare, I became very excited when I started researching LED light therapy. I believe that we should be continually striving to find the most effective ways not only to treat the symptoms of disease but also to adopt an approach that targets the imbalance or blockage that is causing ill health. Rather than watering the leaves of a withering tree, we must tend to the tree’s roots so it can thrive on it’s own.
The human body is constantly striving for homeostasis, or balance, and has the remarkable ability to self heal when given the optimal support. Light therapy is a very effective way to assist the body to achieve this state of balance. Light energy is not only essential to life, it provides powerful support to the body’s natural healing processes. Studies done by NASA have shown that cells which have been exposed to LED light energy applications have a 150% enhancement to their cellular metabolism, thereby accelerating repair and replenishment.
This form of therapy is a safe, cost effective, non-invasive, and natural alternative for the entire family, including pets! Personally, I also find it to be highly relaxing and meditative and my family and I have been using the lights to great effect for aiding with things such as sleep issues, injuries, TMJ, pain and inflammation, sore muscles, digestion, allergies, cuts and wounds. Even some surprise side benefits including: increased energy, dental and optic health, alleviating stress, and skin rejuvenation.
So how does it work?
LED light energy, delivered via light emitting diodes at various wavelengths, penetrates tissue at different depths, and is naturally absorbed by the cells to assist in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), energy required for cellular repair and regeneration. It also facilitates the release of Nitric Oxide, a natural response, supporting the body with improved circulation. Improved circulation (blood flow) is one of the most vital components of the healing process. This can lead to many cascading benefits that continue long after the lights are removed.
I believe that light therapy is a valuable tool in restoring and improving health and vitality, and I am very excited about the opportunity to provide assistance to those in search of alternative options for improved health and general well being.
